I bought a Fonera and Fontenna a while ago and have been running them in a room in the house while I tested it all.

This morning I thought I'd get it all sorted.

Building Firefox 3 beta 2 from Source on Ubuntu 7.10

Although Mozilla have released a binary blob of Firefox 3 beta 2 that is easily unpacked and run from your /home directory , I thought I'd try my hand at building it from source.

Liberation Fonts - Thank You RedHat

On May 9th RedHat made freely available a pack of fonts called Liberation Fonts.

There are three sets of fonts in the pack :-

  • Sans - which is a substitute for Arial, Albany, Helvetica, Nimbus Sans L, and Bitstream Vera Sans.
  • Serif - which is a substitute for Times New Roman, Thorndale, Nimbus Roman, and Bitstream Vera Serif.
  • Mono - substitute for Courier New, Cumberland, Courier, Nimbus Mono L, and Bitstream Vera Sans Mono.

Fluxbox 1.0rc3

Fluxbox 1.0 Release Candidate 3 was released on the 20th of March so I downloaded the source files today and compiled it.

My name is Mark Waters and I have been playing with computers for over 20 years and with Open Source since about 1998 , now I think its time I gave something back to the community so I have setup this site with the intention of helping out new Linux users and perhaps a few old hands as well.
